First, I have just released a new Listen version (0.6.1) that fixes the two major issues of the previous one. To download it, go here or here
A new version of gmixer (1.3) fixes an issue, when popup-slider is updated and that no existing statusbar is available.
For an easier maintenance and a better usability I have decided to migrate Listen and gmixer in a launchpad/bazaar project.
I have already moved Listen svn repo in multiple bazaar branches on launchpad, you can now access the trunk source code with “bzr branch lp:listen”

If you are using (x)ubuntu, you will soon be able to use a ppa.

After much work I have finally release a new version of Listen.
The most important changes are:
- The playback backend that allows crossfade and gapless listening.
- The plugin system to easily add new features to Listen.
Some features requested by users were written as plugins.

Gmixer in a gtk/gstreamer mixer, it can act as a daemon and show a tray icon to manage sound volume.
The new version add support of volume key and fork correctly in background.

The second rc is released, it fixes important bugs of the 0.6rc1.

I have change my hosting, I have now a dedied server for listen website, trac ,svn and some other personal stuff.

Due to the slow rendering of my trac site, i have changed my trac 0.10+mod_cgi to trac 0.11rc1+mod_wsgi
The web site has been broken for a few days, because I have rewriten some personal plugins.
Trac is now operational.

This is my first blog, I will try to talk about my interest for the open-source universe, the listen-project, and all things which have something to do here.
First, the listen-project. When I connect on the listen website what do I see? Last update 13/02/2007…, this is why I have started this blog. The project is not dead, I carry on working on it when I have time.
To end listen 0.6, I need:
- to finish port of ipod support to the new plugins structure (big todo )
- to remove gnomevfs (to remove gnome dependencies, for xfce, openbox user, …)
- to use ctype to directly use libmozebmed.so instead of python-gtkmozembed (because it is only provided by gnome)
Well, when these 3 points and all important bugs will be fixed, then listen 0.6 will be released.
Next, I have started an other small project, gmixer.
Its goals is to offer the same functionalities than the gnome mixer, only in gtk/gstreamer, without gnome dependencies.
